Thomas Dixon

Junior Translator

I studied German and Norwegian at University College London and am drawn to the field of translation by a delight in the way that language works. While studying a Scandinavian language may be regarded as an eccentric choice, it has the advantage of providing a translator with three languages in one – I can translate from Danish and Swedish at a similar standard as from German and Norwegian. I have honed my language skills by living, working and studying abroad, having worked on a farm in rural Norway near the Arctic circle and completed an internship at a translation company in Berlin. I am driven by a desire to hone my craft as a translator and relish the opportunity for new translation challenges which I receive every day at AST.
