We recently took delivery of our new certificate confirming our successful transition to the new international quality management (QM) standard ISO 9001:2015, making us one of the first UK-based translation companies to do so.
The new version of the globally recognised standard marks an evolution of its predecessor ISO 9001:2008, for which AST first gained certification back in 2010. In order to meet the standard’s stringent requirements, companies have to demonstrate a thorough understanding of quality and how it impacts all areas of their business. While maintaining the same rigorous focus as its previous incarnation, ISO 9001:2015 also requires successful companies to show sound evidence of risk-based thinking and a striving for continuous improvement in their organisation and QM system.
Technically, companies running the “old” standard have until September 2018 to update their QM systems in line with the new requirements. By making the step up now, however, we can demonstrate both our flexibility in the face of new challenges and our proactive approach to quality assurance.
The report from our independent audit back in March confirmed that “the company employs an in-depth risk approach in how it manages its projects and resources. A comprehensive analysis has been conducted to identify internal and external issues affecting the company’s activities and their interested parties.”
Our new and existing clients can therefore feel safe in the knowledge that, when they do business with us, they are receiving a service that complies fully with the very latest quality standards.
