It was a trip to Paris, at age 13, which sparked my interest in European culture. As my appreciation for French food and fashion grew, so too did my curiosity for the language. Over the years, I’ve continued to cultivate this curiosity through my work, studies, and travels.
As like many of my colleagues at AST, I studied languages at university and then spent some time working overseas. In 2017, I graduated from Sheffield University with a BA in French and Philosophy and later returned to complete an MA in Translation. After graduating, I was fortunate enough to spend four years working in Paris where I held a variety of enriching linguistic and latterly managerial positions. Although, it was whilst working as an in-house translator for a fashion agency that I developed an interest in marketing whilst working alongside the editor-in-chief to curate social media, blog, and marketing campaigns.
It’s the creative, strategic, and indeed linguistic aspect of marketing that fascinates me. Moreover, it’s extremely rewarding to be utilising my skills to promote AST, a translation business that truly respects, values, and nurtures its linguists.
